Vacant Master and PhD positions in Biorefineries in Mexico 2023

Join us as Master and PhD students to work on biorefineries using microalgae and lignocellulosic biomass.


We want to inform you that the Science and Food Technology Postgraduate Program has Master and PhD student positions available in Biorefinery Group ( at Autonomous University of Coahuila in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. We are looking for a motivated and skilled colleague for two Master and PhD Scholarship in biorefineries using microalgae and lignocellulosic biomass. So if you plan to establish yourself as a scientist or get an excellent background for continuing in industry.

We are looking for excellent and highly motivated candidates with an interest in Bioprocess Engineering, Biorefinery concept, Circular Bioeconomy for the production of high added-value compounds and biofuels from microalgae and lignocellulosic biomass: (Cultivations system, Fermentation strategies, Hydrothermal (autohydrolysis)processing/pretreatment – biomass fractionation, Process intensification,  Bio- (Photo)reactor design, Oligomers production from hemicellulose,  Enzyme production and Food technology, starting in August 2023.

The desired skills are in chemical engineering, Food technology, environmental, biotechnology, microbiology or related disciplines.

Copy of the undergraduate/master’s degree certificate with an average equal or higher than 80 (in case of having a different qualification parameter, applicants must submit an equivalence to establish the qualification with a maximum of 100).
